So I woke up to a text from kenzie saying she was on her way to this week long music camp-type-thing in northern idaho...cool...since it's northern idaho, its a 3 hour time difference between us, instead of 2 hours...no biggie i guess
I layed around in bed for a while and finally woke up...had my preworkout snack then went to business...
typical stuff for back and biceps...deadlifts, pullups, rows, curls...then lower abs, damned leg raises...not easy :/
then had my protein shake...then took a shower...
after that I realizd i had an hour before i had to be at work...so i practiced a bit before eating then leaving for work.
did I mention I hate my job?
it was a golf outing at work...which consisted of a lot of bringing food out...serving it...clearing dirty plates and then repeating 3 more times...then there was about an hour fo down time before cleaning up shit...then I was able to leave early and be home by 9pm...cool!!
Soooo I get to see my girl in 5 days...sooo excited! :)
It feels weird that it is already the middle of July...that means that summer is like...half over?!
what the hell?? haha
anyways...I've got an addiction to the tv show "Locked Up Abroad"....seeing how they treat and handle you in foreign countries make you realize how well inmates and people inprisioned folks here really have it.
I guess that's all she called for today...maybe I'll write more tomorrow...

I took 5 months off of this...oops!!
Hey everyone,
So I've been procrastinating about updating my blog...and thanks to Ms. Roseum, I am finally updating this.
To sum up the past 5 months of my life...um...let's see...
I'm 185lbs of solid "Holt-man" ...which is the most I've ever weighed in my life so far, and I haven't worked out so hard in my life either. So I'm seeing results, that brings a smile to my face.
School is over for the year and I'm at home working at some bullshit country club about 6 miles from my house. Wondering what I do?...set up for banquets, sometimes work weddings, sometimes work the restaurant, sometimes do peoples bitch work like moving tables outside, moving massive amounts of dinner plates and random stupid shit like that. Oh yeah, and I get to wear a wonderful 'penguin outfit'...consisting of tux pants, a tux shirt, and a vest...its a bit ridiculous and I haven't hated a job like this ever before. I have completely flat feet (sans arches of any kind in my feet), and after 9 hours on my feet they start to really hurt...so everyday I come home with sore feet/ankles and its not enjoyable at all.
But heres some good news...I get to go see McKenzie on the 18th...which is 1 week from now...I'm soo excited and I can't wait. I'm staying a little over a week and I'm looking forward to just sitting around and chillin...and of course, seeing my girl :)
This next week is going to be the slowest weeks of my life, I think haha
More good news...I got a new cell phone, but don't worry, I have the same number...for you folks that actually care. lol I got an LG EnV Touch...its really cool and I like it better than my old phone...which not that I think of it, wasn't really "old"...The weird part is...my dad and my sister have the same phone as me now. My sister got hers, there dad did, then I got mine...cool??
I guess we don't have to worry about chargers if we misplace them haha...
I'm hungry...so I'm using that as an excuse to stop typing haha...maybe I'll write a bit more after I get off work...

Finally...a true 'lazy day'
so today has been fantastic so far...
woke up around 930am and went to the post office around 1030 to mail some stuff home...then met mckenzie and people at dascomb for lunch before going to the gym to smack some weights around. i got to the gym around 1215 and started my different workout, most of the time i try to isolate 2 or 3 bodyparts...such as back and biceps when i do deadlifts, pullups, rows, and stuff like that. this time its a different workout...did bench press, clean and press, pullups, dips, incline dumbell bench, and 3 heavy sets of leg press at the end of the workout. i was beyond tired when i finished the routine and it took me like 15 mins to walk from the gym to my dorm room, it usually takes around 10 mins or so. once i got back i chugged a protein shake and took a shower, and here comes the soreness, if its bad now, itll get worse by tomorrow...i MUST make time to go for a run tomorrow at some point to get this lactic acid out of my system.
anyways...tomorrow is friday!! which means....chamber orchestra concert and then drinking...or maybe drinking, chamber orchestra, then more drinking?...i dont know...ive never been to an orchestra concert a little tipsy so maybe i'll do it tomorrow haha
this weekend there is a 'classy' party in orange kitchen in our dorm hahaha.....classy in a dorm room?...of course it makes sense...anyways...i'm providing wine...not really sure what to get though...maybe some white zinf??
anyway...i just ate a massive sandwich from Decafe...and i think another nap might be in order

whoa...i took 2 weeks off from this...my bad
ok so a situation called life happened...and its busy as all hell
monday, wednesday, and friday are busiest days for me this semester...and no i'm not bitching and moaning about it...chill
the weather here in northeastern ohio has been pretty shitty lately. snow, snow, snow...harsh wind, snow, and more snow. typical i suppose?
lately i've been getting frustrated with my schedule because I have to workout at the most inconvenient times, but i gotta get it in.
last night was pushups at 11pm...after a long day and a few long, drawn out rehearsals :( managed to get 400 pushups in 25 mins before heading off to bed...i woke up this morning thinking i didnt workout, then 2pm came, and along with it came the soreness in the shoulders,chest, and triceps..wooo progress!
the routine is looking like this...tues/thurs/sat/sun i can workout...either in my room via my dumbells and perfect pushups or going to the gym to do the assorted exercises i do.
along with the perfect pushup came this workout chart...called a 2 minute drill...based on your max reps you can do in 1 setting you do 3 sets ranging in reps and must be done in 2 minutes...rest a little....do 3 sets of wide grip in 2 minutes, and rest...then the final set of close grip (the hardest ones for me as of now) 3 sets in 2 minutes...that shit burns...a lot
30-16-12 are the repetions...FML
anyways...thats all for now...i think???
oh yeah...if you see Friday within the next few hours...tell it to come faster...

'the situation'
Oops, i didnt get a chance to post a blog yesterday...i went our last night and didnt get back til late...my bad
anyways, so winter term is basically over now...my sleep schedule is now on a normal set, and i used iCal to map out my life for the next semester, it doesn't seem as bad as last semester since i wont have a weekly trombone quartet that wants to meet a few times a week. i have big orchestra, brass quintet, and a low brass section to work on excerpts which will be awesome, seeing as i have my junior jury in may and its excerpts so the reps are much needed and appreciated. i'm supposed to be in wind ensemble, but i now realize i have a class conflict with theory, so i sent an email trying to clear it up...plus i'm only playing on 2 pieces this concert block so it shouldnt be a huge headache for them.
lets see what else is going on...i went out to eat with some friends yesterday at olive garden...then went to duquesne to chill...it was a good time...
thats about it...i'll post another before bed...

quality brother and sister time
wednesday = rest day from working out...abs, and everything from the waist up are sore as all hell...job well done!
did the usual...wake up...ate while watching tv...warmed up/practiced for a lil while before taking a nap.
later in the day i went to the mall with my sister. i needed/wanted to get out of the house, it gets boring and i had some serious cabin fever goin on. so we went to the mall, then went out to eat, and went back to la roche to hang out with sisters boyfriend and roommate. overall it was a very good night, i had a lot of fun. i feel like i have a better relationship with my sister since we are getting older. it seemed weird in the past, but i think it is because we are only 14 months apart. i have a great sister...and i'm lucky that she puts up with my bullshit lol...if youre reading this michelle, you're awesome.
well...its 2am...and i should be asleep since i'm waking up at 930am...

Oatmeal is awesome
next week at this time the first day of 2nd semester would have begin...interesting how winter term flew by, must have been having fun.
i'm re-adjusting my internal clock so when i have to wake up at 9am it wont be like hell on earth. so i woke up at 930 today, made some oatmeal and just hung out. didnt see the new neighbors today, but i have a feeling we'll be seeing them more frequently in the not so far future.
i made oatmeal with raisins for my breakfast, it has been a while since i've had it and damn, it was good lol. warmed up a bit later than i wanted, but whatever...
was talking to my good friend alex, from high school, we both love working out and being 'jacked black guys' haha...we were talking about pushups and he found this website for people who want to do 100 pushups, something we both could do in a few minutes, but he was talkin about doin 100 pushups in a row. it gave me another goal i want to reach by spring break; 100 consecutive pushups in 1 setting. sounds easy, some might say...then YOU try it right now...go ahead, i'll wait...
instead of bench presses today i wanted to see how many pushups i could do... ready-set-go... i cranked out as many as i could...goal was around 80...and i did 75...not too shabby, but there is room for improvement. there are a few ways of approaching this...every workout day i have i'll add 100 pushups or so...at the end of the workout...1 set of max then another set of however many are left, out of 100...we'll see how it goes
thats all for now...i'm going to do more pushups
